It was disappointment under the arch of Wembley Stadium for Manchester City, as a 1-2 defeat at the hands of their city rivals saw the Cityzens bow-out of a domestic double.
Addressing the media in his post match press conference, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed his disappointment in the result whilst still digesting the positives of the campaign.
‘Disappointed today, that is normal. This season has been extraordinary, fighting for all the trophies in a good way.
It was a tight game. We gave away the first goal, and after that they make a good transition for the second one as well.’

Speaking in regards to whether today’s result will put a damper on the celebrations, Guardiola was firm in his beliefs.
‘We talk and hug each other and say now we are sad. We celebrate tomorrow the incredible decision that we have done, and then we come back. In football, you win, you lose.’
The first half of proceedings saw the Cityzens lack their usual dynamic prowess when they attacked forward, something Guardiola took full responsibility for when expressing ‘We were not in the right position to attack. It was my mistake.’
Addressing the recent rumours surrounding his managerial counterpart in Erik ten Hag, Guardiola gave his two cents in the precarious future of the Manchester United manager’s position at the club.
‘He is a lovely person, an extraordinary manager. So of course the FA Cup is important for them.’
