Speaking during Thursday’s press conference, Poland’s Karol Świderski gave an insight into his anticipated recovery timeline after suffering a sprained ankle during Monday’s friendly win over Türkiye.
The striker’s involvement in that clash lasted just twelve minutes, hobbling off after celebrating the opening goal in Warsaw. It proved to be a concerning evening for Michał Probierz’s Poland, who would then go on to lose Robert Lewandowski through injury too.
But while the Barcelona striker is a confirmed absentee from their opening clash in Hamburg against the Netherlands, Poland have been given a boost as Świderski revealed that “everything is healing nicely” and that he “hopes to play in the match.”

“Today, I think that I will train on my own again – but I’ll have a harder training unit and if we succeed [with it], we’ll do a second unit later at the hotel gym.”
Ankle injuries have unfortunately become a recurring problem for the Hellas Verona forward, who commented that ”during the season, I had a similar situation twice with the same ankle.”
