Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann spoke to the media after Die Nationalmannschaft’s 2-0 win against Hungary at EURO2024. The game was held in the Stuttgart Arena and saw Germany become the first team to qualify for the tournament’s round of 16.
Nagelsmann reflected on the game and was pleased with his young team, saying: “I’m happy with the result, and it was a tough game.”
“We want to be first in our group stage; that’s important because we want to win every game, so if we win every game this year, we will be first in the group stage.
“Then we will see we cannot influence the results in the other group, so we will see what happened there, and then we will see who our next opponent is in the knockout stage.”

“I think it’s important for him [Musiala] not to deal with the pressure, just to deal with this capability to solve offensive one-on-one situations.
“I had a lot of meetings with Jamal when I was a coach in Bayern Munich, and now, as a national coach, he should play like he’s on a small pitch anywhere in Germany or England.”
When asked about the fans for Germany, Nagelsmann was full of praise and gratitude: “The atmosphere is amazing – just an amazing mood. There was a fan march just passing our hotel. So, there were extremely many people accompanied by us when we got on the bus.

Having already advanced to the round of 16, Germany’s final group stage match will see them face Switzerland on 23rd June.
