Lucy Bronze has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with Chelsea, as confirmed by the club on Wednesday morning in a press release.
The 32-year-old joins from Barcelona, having spent the past two seasons in Catalunya playing under Jonatan Giráldez and lifting the UEFA Women’s Champions League twice during that successful spell.

Bronze left Manchester City to join Olympique Lyonnais in 2017, returning in 2020 before departing for the sunny shores of Barcelona two years later.
On returning to England, Bronze said: “I’m really excited to be back in England. My family are so excited as well to get to more of my games. I’m excited to be in London, to see what the capital holds and to be at a club that is renowned for winning so many trophies.
“To know I’m a Chelsea player still feels a little bit surreal. It’s obviously a club I know so much about and have done for such a long time.”
Bronze will play under Sonia Bompastor, with the former Lyon manager having taken the reins in SW6 following the departure of Emma Hayes at the end of 2023/24.
