Having made just seven appearances for the club since signing from Atlético Madrid last summer, Irene Guerrero departs Manchester United to sign for Club América Femenil.
The midfielder was part of the Spanish squad that lifted the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, making three appearances for la Roja from the bench as they were crowned World Champions for the first time.
Guerrero, now 27, signed for Manchester United on deadline day but has struggled to secure consistent minutes throughout her debut season on English soil. The Spaniard made just seven appearances across all competitions in 2023/24, with six of those coming from the bench.

Lucía García recently joined Monterrey, and while Guerrero’s departure is perhaps not as concerning as that of her compatriot, it could leave a void in the Red Devils’ midfield.
Katie Zelem, who has been a midfield stalwart since the club reformed in 2018, left the club upon the expiry of her contract – and Grace Clinton’s future is still yet to be confirmed, with Tottenham reportedly still interested in the young midfielder after she spent last season on loan in N17.
