Brighton confirm arrival of Man Utd forward

Brighton & Hove Albion have concluded their deadline day activity with the arrival of Nikita Parris, announced just five minutes before the transfer window slams shut at 23:00 BST.

Parris had been linked with an exit from Manchester United throughout the summer. The club triggered an extension option on her contract in July, preventing her from leaving as a free agent.

The 30-year-old forward joined the Red Devils from Arsenal in August 2022, shortly after winning the UEFA Women’s Euros with England.

Her time in Manchester saw her score 25 goals in 57 appearances, lifting the Adobe Women’s FA Cup at the end of 2023/24.

In a statement released via the club website, Brighton’s head coach Dario Vidišić commented: “We’re delighted to bring a player of Nikita’s ability and experience to the club.”

“She is vastly experienced and will be an excellent role model, particularly for our young players. She is looking forward to getting stuck into a new challenge and we can’t wait to start working with her ahead of our first WSL game next Saturday against Everton.”
