Speaking in his pre-match press conference at Stamford Bridge ahead of Real Madrid’s UEFA Women’s Champions League opener, Alberto Toril insisted that his side are “feeling really good” ahead of their clash with Chelsea on Tuesday night.
What did Alberto Toril say?
Las Blancas have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the 2024/25 Liga F campaign, having recorded wins in each of their five clashes so far. Reflecting on those performances, the 51-year-old Spaniard commented: “We’ve started our season very well with a lot of wins, and so we’re feeling really good.”
“We’re really excited and can’t wait to start a fourth consecutive season in the Group Stages of this competition. We’re going to give it our all – it’s not easy to get to this point, there are so many strong teams that have dropped out,” he added, with some of the most notable sides already eliminated including Ajax, Paris FC and Paris Saint-Germain.

“We’re capable of doing things well, because we’ve got great players with lots of talent,” he added.
“We believe in our players, in our work and in our style of play. We want to highlight the importance of what we do in training and make it difficult for Chelsea. It’s going to be a big test, but I believe we’re capable of playing a good game here and getting a positive result.”
As for what he wants to see from his side on Tuesday, the Real Madrid boss indicated: “I want us to show character and be capable of competing, that we believe in ourself and that we enjoy the match.”
