Chelsea have triggered an option to extend Guro Reiten’s contract until 2026, the club have confirmed in a statement on Tuesday morning.
The news of Reiten’s contract extension comes just a day after Aniek Nouwen’s deal was also extended to the summer of 2026.
Reiten has enjoyed a successful stint in the capital city since arriving from LSK Kvinner in 2019, contributing in no small part to 10 club trophies throughout that time.
The 30-year-old is the third top goalscorer available to Sonia Bompastor at the moment, and her 35 goals in 102 WSL appearances see her sit fifth in Chelsea’s all-time goalscorer table.
One of the Norwegian’s best goalscoring performances in a Chelsea shirt came late last season, as she netted four goals in a stunning 8-0 victory over Bristol City that proved crucial in ending Emma Hayes’ tenure with yet another WSL title.
Reiten is closing in on 100 appearances for Norway and could reach the milestone achievement before this summer’s Euro 2025 tournament, set to take place in Switzerland.
