Erin Cuthbert signs new deal at Chelsea, extending stay until 2027

Chelsea's Erin Cuthbert has penned a contract extension that will keep her at the club until the summer of 2027.

Chelsea have confirmed that Erin Cuthbert has signed a contract extension that will keep her at the club until the summer of 2027

Cuthbert, 26, joined the Blues as a teenager in 2016 from Glasgow City and has played an instrumental role in the club’s recent successes, lifting six Women’s Super League titles and four FA Cups alongside other trophies throughout her time in the capital. The midfielder could add a third Women’s League Cup to her collection this weekend too, if Chelsea see off Manchester City at Derby County’s Pride Park on Saturday.

The Scotland international is the club’s second-longest current player, only trailing captain Millie Bright – who also penned a contract extension with the club in recent weeks.

On signing a new deal at Chelsea, Cuthbert said: “It’s a good time to reflect on how far I’ve come over the last eight years. If you had said to the girl who joined Chelsea eight years ago that she would still be here, I wouldn’t have believed you. I have fallen in love with a club and they have fallen in love with me. That’s special.”

Paul Green, the club’s Head of Women’s Football, added: “Erin is one of the leaders in the team and now in her prime. She has been a key player in our success over the last eight years and recently surpassed 250 appearances for the club, which is testament to her reliability and consistency.”

“We have seen her develop into one of the best central midfielders in the world and look forward to seeing her continue to progress in the upcoming years.”
