Marc Skinner has signed a new contract with Manchester United that will see him remain as the head coach of the women’s first team until June 2027, with the option to extend for a further year.
Appointed to the role in 2021, Skinner’s greatest moment with the Red Devils came at Wembley Stadium last season when his side saw off Tottenham Hotspur to claim the Adobe Women’s FA Cup – their first major trophy.
Almost 65% of Skinner’s 119 games in charge have ended in victory, with the club currently flying high in the Barclays Women’s Super League and approaching the semi-finals of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup once again.
On signing a new deal, Skinner commented: “It has been an absolute privilege to serve as head coach for this fantastic football club for the past four years, and I am delighted to be extending my time in the role for at least a further two years.”
“We are building a young, hungry team with the aim of challenging consistently for further trophies. There is still more hard work ahead, including this season, but the players and staff have already shown their determination to succeed, and I am looking forward to us taking the next steps in our journey together.”
