Newcastle United return to Premier League action tomorrow night after a thrilling 3-0 Champions League win over Benfica at St James’ Park.
Anthony Gordon opened the scoring before Harvey Barnes came off the bench to net twice, helping the Magpies secure back-to-back European wins for the first time in 22 years.
Eddie Howe’s side have struggled domestically, winning just two of their last ten Premier League matches, both against sides in the relegation zone. Newcastle defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 and Nottingham Forest 2-0 before their European triumph.
Currently 14th in the Premier League, one point above Fulham, the Magpies could climb into the top ten with a victory over the Cottagers. Newcastle will be without Tino Livramento, Yoane Wissa, Lewis Hall, and Harrison Ashby due to injury.
Fulham travel to St James’ Park following a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Craven Cottage, marking their third consecutive league loss. The Cottagers have kept only one clean sheet in their last 17 Premier League games, a 1-0 win against Leeds last month.
Marco Silva’s side have had the upper hand in recent meetings with Newcastle, winning the last two encounters, including a 2-1 victory at St James’ Park in February and a 3-1 triumph at Craven Cottage last September.
Fulham will be without Rodrigo Muniz, Samuel Chukwueze, Antonee Robinson, and Joachim Andersen, with Harry Wilson also doubtful.
The match will not be broadcast in the UK due to the 3pm blackout rule, but fans can stream it live on the US channel Peacock.
