PREVIEW: Liverpool aim to end Premier League losing streak at Brentford

Brentford welcome Liverpool as the Reds hunt for first league victory since September.

Liverpool travel to the Gtech Community Stadium aiming to secure their first Premier League win since mid-September against Brentford.

The Reds began the season with five consecutive wins, including a 1-0 home victory over title rivals Arsenal, but have since suffered three successive league defeats, dropping to third in the table.

Their struggles extended into Europe as well, losing 1–0 to Galatasaray in matchday two of the Champions League, before bouncing back midweek with a 5–1 demolition of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Liverpool now aims to translate that European form back into domestic success on Saturday. However, they will be without Jeremy Frimpong (hamstring), Alisson Becker, Ryan Gravenberch, and Alexander Isak (groin).

On the positive side, Florian Wirtz, who registered two assists against Frankfurt, is expected to feature, while Virgil van Dijk could make his 150th appearance as club captain and Andy Robertson could reach 350 appearances for the club.

The sides last met in January, when a stoppage-time brace from Darwin Nunez secured a 2-0 Liverpool victory. Brentford, sitting 14th with ten points after eight matches, will hope to take advantage of Liverpool’s recent poor league form and their 11 goals conceded in eight games.

Igor Thiago, currently third in the Premier League goalscoring charts, will be the player to watch for the Bees.

Brentford have injury concerns with Aaron Hickey, Antoni Milambo, and Josh Dasilva sidelined, while Liverpool will monitor Mohamed Salah, who has three goal involvements in his last four away games against Brentford, though his place is uncertain due to a recent goal drought.

The match kicks off at 20:00 BST and will be broadcast live on TNT Sports in the UK.
