Nottingham Forest came from behind to beat Leeds United 3-1 at the City Ground – their first Premier League win under Sean Dyche. Lukas Nmecha gave Leeds an early lead, but Ibrahim Sangaré hit back within two minutes. Morgan Gibbs-White’s header midway through the second half turned the game, before Elliot Anderson’s stoppage-time penalty sealed the result.
The victory lifts Forest out of the bottom three and ends a nine-match winless run in the competition, while Leeds’ away struggles continue despite a bright opening spell.
As it happened
Leeds struck first on 13 minutes as Noah Okafor’s press forced a turnover and Brenden Aaronson slipped in Nmecha, who finished low across Sels. Forest hit straight back – Dan Ndoye’s cross was parried by Lucas Perri and Sangaré reacted quickest to turn in the rebound.
The first half remained open, with Forest pushing the tempo. Perri denied Igor Jesus from close range, Ndoye curled just wide, and Murillo was booked for halting a Leeds break. Gibbs-White’s low drive before the interval was safely held by the visiting keeper.
Leeds showed brief intent after the restart, but Forest soon took control again. Dyche’s triple change – Omari Hutchinson, Ryan Yates and Taiwo Awoniyi – added energy, and the breakthrough came on 68 minutes. Murillo’s diagonal ball found Hutchinson, who stepped inside and delivered a superb cross for Gibbs-White to glance home.
Leeds pushed back through Ethan Ampadu and Daniel James, both denied by sharp saves from Matz Sels, but Forest finished stronger. Hutchinson burst into the box again and was brought down by Jack Harrison, earning a late penalty. Anderson converted confidently to make it 3-1 and confirm Forest’s first league win under Dyche.
