Atlético Madrid welcome Inter Milan to Spain as they return to Champions League action at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium.
Diego Simeone’s side are in strong form and remain unbeaten at home in the competition. However, they currently sit 17th in the league phase on six points, just one behind Spanish rivals Barcelona.
They come into the fixture on a five-match winning run, aiming to extend that to six against the Italian visitors. Their most recent European result was a 3-1 victory over Union Gilloise in the fourth round of the Champions League phase.
Atlético have also won their last three La Liga matches – against Getafe, Levante and Sevilla – and currently sit fourth in the domestic table.
The sides have met three times in competitive fixtures since 2010, with Atlético winning twice and Inter once – including last season’s Champions League knockout tie, where Atlético progressed on penalties.
Atlético will be without defenders Robin Le Normand (knee) and Marcos Llorente (hamstring).
Inter Milan arrive in Madrid unbeaten in three of their last four Serie A fixtures and sit second in the league. They return to European action off the back of domestic wins over Lazio, Hellas Verona and Fiorentina.
In the Champions League group phase, Inter sits third, having beaten Ajax, Slavia Prague, Union Gilloise, and Kairat Almaty. Their last visit to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium in March 2024 ended in a 2-1 defeat.
Christian Chivu will be without three players for the trip: Denzel Dumfries (ankle), Raffaele Di Gennaro (scaphoid fracture) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (hamstring).
The match will be live on TNT Sport in the UK and will kick-off at 20:00 GMT.
