UWCL PREVIEW: Arsenal v Wolfsburg Team News, Predicted Lineups and Where to Watch

Arsenal will welcome VfL Wolfsburg to the Emirates Stadium on Monday, as the Gunners look to secure their place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Final. Jonas Eidevall’s side showed incredible determination to come from behind and earn a draw in the first leg, and they’ll be looking for more of the same in North London.

A sellout crowd is expected to cheer on the Gunners, who can look forward to a tantalising final against Barcelona if they make it through. The Blaugrana beat Chelsea 2-1 on aggregate, with the second leg taking place in front of over 72,000 fans at the Spotify Camp Nou. If Arsenal make it to Eindhoven, it would be their first appearance in the final since they won the competition in 2007.

Team News

As has been widely publicised recently, Arsenal are working with a depleted squad. Leah Williamson will face a length spell on the sidelines through a ruptured ACL – joining Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema, who are also recovering from the same injury.

Club captain Kim Little is also ruled out through a long-term injury, and Caitlin Foord’s hamstring issue may rule her out of this second leg tie too. Lina Hurting is expected to return to the matchday squad.

As for VfL Wolfsburg, they’re strengthened by the return of Alexandra Popp. Lena Lattwein and Katarzyna Kiedrzynek are the only players that won’t be available to feature in Tommy Stroot’s matchday squad.

Predicted Lineups

Arsenal: Zinsberger; Wubben-Moy, Beattie, Rafaelle, Maritz; Wälti, Maanum, Catley; Pelova, Blackstenius, McCabe

VfL Wolfsburg: Frohms; Rauch, Janssen, Hendrich, Wilms; Oberdorf; Jonsdottir, Roord, Brand; Pajor, Popp
