Vivianne Miedema named in Arsenal matchday squad for first time since ACL injury

Ten months after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament against Olympique Lyonnais, Arsenal’s Vivianne Miedema has returned to the matchday squad as the Gunners prepare to take on Bristol City.

Beth Mead made her return from the same injury last weekend at Emirates Stadium, recording the assist for Alessia Russo’s late winner as the Gunners crept past Aston Villa.

Miedema has been named in the Netherlands squad for the upcoming international break, with the Oranjeleeuwinnen set to face Scotland twice in the UEFA Women’s Nations League.

Arsenal will seek to build upon last weekend’s momentum and pick up three points against a struggling Bristol City side that is rooted to the bottom of the Barclays Women’s Super League table.
