Arsenal 2-0 Sevilla: Gunners edge closer to UEFA Champions League knockouts

Arsenal would welcome Sevilla to North London on Wednesday to dispute the fourth match of their respective UEFA Champions League group stage campaigns, with the Gunners confident after picking up three points in Spain last time these sides met.

ARS: Raya; Tomiyasu, Gabriel, Saliba, White; Rice, Jorginho, Havertz; Martinelli, Trossard, Saka

SEV: Dmitrović; Salas, Gudelj, Badé, Sánchez; Fernando, Jordan; Pedrosa, Sow, Lamela; En-Nesyri

With Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah both sidelined through injury, Leandro Trossard was afforded the opportunity to lead the line for Mikel Arteta’s side – in a move that would pay off after less than thirty minutes as he swept home a tap-in from Bukayo Saka’s cross.

Saka would get a goal of his own in the 64th minute, as he dashed past the visiting defence to slot home – latching onto Gabriel Martinelli’s through ball with ease to confirm another three points for the Gunners.

Three points for Arsenal ensure that they sit at the top of their group, while their Spanish opponents remain rooted to the bottom of the Group B table as their search for their first win of the campaign continues.
