Manchester City have confirmed that Gareth Taylor has signed a new three-year contract at Joie Stadium, in a deal that will see him remain as Head Coach of the women’s first team until 2027.
Taylor has overseen 131 matches since his arrival in May 2020, winning 97 of those and guiding the Cityzens to victory in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup and the Conti Cup in 2020 and 2022 respectively.
News of the 51-year-old’s contract extension comes as Manchester City trail Chelsea on goal difference in the Barclays Women’s Super League, as Taylor’s side look to end their eight-year-long wait for the trophy.

‘Our ambition was always to be right at the top and we’ve done that. It’s taken a lot of hard work from a lot of people behind-the-scenes. The players have really bought in to what we’re trying to do and achieve.’
