Irish broadcaster RTÉ confirmed on Monday that due to a scheduling clash, their coverage of Real Madrid v Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League will be moved – allowing them to prioritise the women’s national team’s qualifying fixture against England.
The Republic of Ireland host the Lionesses at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on Tuesday evening, with kickoff scheduled for 19:30 BST, but the Cityzens get underway in Madrid thirty minutes later.
Embed from Getty ImagesIn order to show the Girls in Greens’ EURO2025 qualifying fixture on mainstream TV, RTÉ have confirmed that Real Madrid v Manchester City will now be streamed on RTÉ Player from 19:45, and on RTÉ News from 19:55.
This allows the Republic of Ireland v England match to be screened on RTÉ2, with buildup at the Aviva Stadium starting from 19:00. More than 30,000 tickets have been sold for the match thus far, with Ireland’s Eileen Gleeson urging fans to be ‘nice and loud’ throughout the evening.
