Liverpool confirm ticket prices to rise, despite Anfield protest

There were no flags on the Kop during Liverpool’s UEFA Europa League loss to Atalanta on Thursday, as part of a protest following the club’s decision to raise ticket prices by 2% going forwards.

The move has been heavily criticised by supporters, but the club issued a statement on Saturday to confirm that ‘its decision on the two percent rise will not be reversed.’

‘LFC has agreed to review and improve its engagement approach in collaboration with the Supporters Board,’ it continued, ‘as it was acknowledged by both parties that more meaningful engagement over ticket prices is required.’

The decision will of course bring in additional matchday income, but fans fear that they may soon be priced out of supporting the club they love if increases continue.
