Manchester City’s Ellie Roebuck is set to leave the club this summer, having penned a pre-contract agreement with Barcelona. The 24-year-old’s contract expires in June.
Roebuck revealed last month that she had suffered a left occipital infarct, which is a type of stroke, but stressed that she had not sustained lasting damage to her vision or brain function.
The goalkeeper’s last competitive appearance came against Manchester United in May 2023 – a match in which she was dismissed for a challenge on Nikita Parris.

Coll and Paños have both shared the goalkeeping duties under Jonatan Giráldez, but with the Catalan manager heading for the United States at the end of the season, Roebuck’s potential game time remains unknown.
She will link up with fellow England internationals, and former Manchester City players, in Catalunya. Keira Walsh and Lucy Bronze both plied their trade for the Cityzens before making the move to Barcelona, contributing to last season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League success in Eindhoven.
