Arsenal’s Jonas Eidevall brushed off talk of the title race after a late Stina Blackstenius brace dented Manchester City’s hopes of silverware at Joie Stadium, providing Chelsea with a golden opportunity to re-enter the conversation.
‘Those are the things that we can’t really control,’ said Eidevall in his post-match press conference, adding that ‘it’s up to other teams to put in strong performances.’
The Gunners have never truly been in the title fight this season, with the battle emerging as a true two-horse race in recent weeks – but it looked as though Chelsea had tripped at one of the last hurdles in midweek when they were stunned by Liverpool.

Instead, the Scandinavian was keen to praise the way his players came from behind at Joie Stadium, highlighting their ‘tremendous character’ in the second half.
Stina Blackstenius’ double sparked the away fans into song, with many urging the club to tie the Swedish forward into an extended contract with the club. Asked to comment on her situation, Eidevall informed reporters that the club will issue a statement ‘when we have something concrete.’
