Arsenal are looking to extend their winning streak when they host Brentford in their 14th game of the Premier League season on Wednesday evening.
The Gunners are undefeated in 17 games across all competitions and head into the clash against Brentford on the back of a 1-1 draw against Chelsea.
Mikel Arteta’s men are not only top of the Champions League but top of the Premier League table on 30 points from a possible 39.
With their draw against Chelsea in mind, Arsenal are unbeaten this season against sides from the capital, with wins over West Ham, Fulham and most notably Tottenham Hotspur making up just a small part of what has been an imperious start to the season.
As for their record against Brentford: it’s positive. The Gunners have not lost to the Bees in the Premier League since a meeting in August 2021 which ended 2-1. They’ve won six of their last eight meetings since then, with two draws the only outliers.
They’ll be will be without Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz as a result of injury, as well as Gabriel at the back. His defensive partner William Saliba is suffering from a ‘little niggle’ and Arteta was unclear as to whether he’d be fit enough to start against the Bees.
Arteta is prepared the challenge they face against Brentford. In his pre-match press conference, he said: “We try to manage every case, every individual in relation to how they feel in the context of the matches, adjust with the only purpose to have the best options on the best pitch and to be better than the opponent, that’s it.
“I think every game that we play, when you look at the intensity in the Premier League against any opponent, what is needed is incredible,” he added.
“Brentford bring different threats, different challenges, and you need to dominate that if you want to win the game.”
Meanwhile, Brentford have lost five of their last six Premier League away matches in 2025/26, with defeats against Brighton, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Sunderland and Nottingham Forest on the road.
They sit 10th in the Premier League table but are just three points off the top five.
The Bees enter the clash on the back of a 3-1 win over Burnley at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Brentford last won against away to Arsenal at Griffin Park under manager Harry Curtis in 1938. They’d go on to finish sixth in Division One, with Arsenal the champions that season.
Keith Andrews will be without Josh Dasilva, Fabio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo due to injuries.
The match will be live on Sky Sports Premier League in the UK and will kick off at 19:30 GMT.
