A thrilling first leg sees Inter on the brink of their first Champions League final in thirteen years – they won the competition under Jose Mourinho in their last appearance. Meanwhile, AC Milan will need to overturn a two-goal deficit to reach their first Champions League in sixteen years – so there’s plenty to play for.
Last week, a quick start for Inzaghi’s men saw Inter lead by two goals after just 11 minutes – with Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan getting on the scoresheet early on. AC Milan were better and improved in the second half, with Sandro Tonali coming close to halving the deficit.
Team News
Lautaro Martinez, Alessandro Bastoni and Hakan Calhanoglu were missing from Inzaghi’s starting eleven against Sassuolo on the weekend – so we’d expect to see the trio feature. Robin Gosens has returned from injury, so Milan Skriniar is the only absentee worth noting.
After two games out with a thigh injury, Rafael Leao returns to matchday action for AC Milan. Junior Messias and Rade Krunic didn’t feature in the club’s defeat to Spezia last time out, though they may well be fit to star in this second leg. Alessandro Florenzi, Ismael Bennacer and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are unavailable for selection.
Predicted Lineups
Internazionale: Onana; Darmian, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Dzeko, Martinez
AC Milan: Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Kjaer, Hernandez; Krunic, Tonali; Saelemakers, Diaz, Leao; Giroud
