Chelsea complete loan signing of Joao Felix

Earlier today, Chelsea Football Club officially announced the signing of Portuguese attacker Joao Felix with the player moving to Stamford Bridge on loan from Atletico Madrid for the remainder of the season.

For a player who is still so young, aged just 23, Felix already comes with great pedigree having been part of the Atletico side which claimed LaLiga glory only two seasons ago, after also becoming a league champion in his debut season for Benfica when he was still only a teenager.

As well as team success, the Portuguese winger has also achieved individual accolades, with his 2019 Golden Boy award honouring him as the best young player in Europe. Felix was also named Atletico’s Player of the Season last term by the club’s supporters.

“Chelsea is one of the great teams in the world and I hope to help the team reach their objectives, so I am very, very happy to be here and very excited to play at Stamford Bridge.”

With Potter also confirming that Christian Pulisic will be unavailable for a number of weeks due to injury during his press conference ahead of tomorrow evening’s match against Fulham, the acquisition of Felix could turn out to be some very shrewd business for the Blues.
