Spurs appoint Ange Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou will become the first Australian manager to ply his trade in the Premier League, as he is set to become Tottenham Hotspur’s Head Coach. Postecoglou will officially start his duties in North London on July 1, with a four-year deal in place.

The Australian has vast experience, featuring for the national team before moving into a management career. Success in the A-League saw Postecoglou appointed as the manager of the Australian national team, who reached the 2014 World Cup under his guidance and winning the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.

After leaving that role in 2017, Postecoglou headed to Japan – where he won the J1 League with Yokohama F Marinos. His stint in Japan was short and sweet, as he was then appointed as Celtic’s Head Coach. In Scotland, he guided his team to five trophies including a historic treble in 2022/23.

Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play. He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy – everything that is important to our Club.
