Mykhaylo Mudryk will complete his medical with Chelsea on Sunday morning, amid reports that the London club are optimistic about having a deal done before this weekend’s fixture against Crystal Palace.
The Ukrainian international is expected to attend The Bridge on Sunday to watch his prospective new club in action, with the potential for the player to be presented to supporters at half-time if a deal can be completed in time.
If all goes to plan, he will sign a contract running until 2030. The Blues have agreed on a deal worth up to €100m – around €70m of which will be paid upfront – while Arsenal’s final offer fell marginally short of Shakhtar’s asking price.
With negotiations over Mudryk being finalised, Chelsea’s attention will return to other winter additions, with PSV Eindhoven winger Noni Madueke and Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram both on their shopping list.
