Delort set to join FC Nantes

OGC Nice’s Algerian forward, Andy Delort, is said to have missed training on Wednesday – after rumours have been circulating that the striker could be heading to Nantes. The interim Head Coach, Didier Digard, is said to have given his side a two-day break after the goalless draw at Reims.

However, with Delort deciding to extend his break by an additional day, the Algerian is now likely to be subject to heavy fines as he tries to force a move to Nantes. Delort, who is 31 years old, has scored six goals for les Aiglons so far this season, despite his minutes on the pitch being limited.

Delort has already agreed personal terms with Nantes, though his current club are reluctant to sell the Algerian until they can source a replacement. It’s believed that Digard’s side are keen to prise Terem Moffi away from FC Lorient, where the Nigerian has bagged twelve times so far this season.

It would be fair to say that Nice have struggled for goals so far this season – scoring 22 in their opening nineteen games. While their hopes of qualifying for next season’s European competitions may already be over, Moffi would certainly add firepower to the club’s attack and could prove to be the difference for the Allianz Riviera outfit.

Nice may well be establishing links with Premier League giants Manchester United, as INEOS look to purchase the Old Trafford side. Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s chemical company already own the French club.
