Leicester announce Kristiansen signing

Leicester City have announced the signing of Victor Kristiansen, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Danish defender attracted a £17m transfer fee. Kristiansen, who has made more than 70 appearances for Copenhagen, is a regular feature in the Danish U21 national team and joins the Foxes on an five-and-a-half year deal that runs through to 2028.

Having worked his way through the ranks at the club’s academy, he first appeared for Copenhagen’s senior side in November 2022. The youngster is widely regarded as one of Denmark’s finest youth prospects – and if he’s even half as good as fellow Dane, Kasper Schmeichel, Leicester City will have a sensational player on the books.

While the left-back won’t be available for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Brighton, he’ll be in attendance at the King Power to watch the fixture. Brendan Rodgers can expect to see his new signing in training on Monday, with the young Danish defender providing competition to Luke Thomas on the left side of defence ahead of the upcoming trip to Walsall in the FA Cup. Leicester City have confirmed that Victor Kristiansen will wear the number 16 shirt, last occupied by Filip Benković.
