United express interest in Bayern’s Sabitzer

Manchester United have been in contact with Bayern Munich to enquire about a loan deal for Austrian midfielder Marcel Sabitzer. With Christian Eriksen ruled out until May, the Red Devils desperately need to bolster their midfield – and it appears a loan deal for Sabitzer is the preferred option.

Despite being linked with Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans earlier on Deadline Day, it appears the Old Trafford club have now turned their attention to Germany. The 28-year-old joined Bayern in August 2021 from Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig.

Sabitzer celebrated a Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal win last season, after die Bayern finished eight points clear of traditional rivals Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table. With just over eight hours until the transfer window closes, will Erik Ten Hag secure the Austrian’s signature?
