Having joined the club in February 2022, Jesse Marsch has been sacked as Leeds United’s Head Coach – as confirmed by the club in a press statement issued to leedsunited.com. Three members of his coaching team – Rene Maric, Cameron Toshack and Pierre Barrieu – will also leave the club with immediate effect.
Marsch’s side escaped relegation on the final day of the 2021/22 season thanks to a 2-1 win at Brentford – but this season’s performances sees the club in 17th, avoiding the drop zone on goal difference. Leeds haven’t won a game since the 5th of November, beating Bournemouth 4-3 in a close-fought battle at Elland Road.
The club are now set to look for a replacement, with Marcelo Bielsa – Marsch’s predecessor – not yet ruled out of a sensational return to Elland Road. With Sean Dyche’s recent appointment at Everton, it’s unclear who the club plan to tie down to a deal.
